Every year, I look forward to the fall season – especially when it comes to fashion. It is the perfect weather, not too hot and not too cold. And with a new season comes the need for some staple pieces that can be styled in a variety of different ways. At the beginning of September, I began searching for some new wardrobe pieces and I have found some of my favourites which I am so excited to be sharing with you!
Wide leg jeans have been a rising trend this season, so I had to get my hands on a pair. I have to admit, I was quite uncertain with how flattering they would be, since I am not that tall, and they are quite baggy and long in the legs. However, I was shocked with how comfortable and flattering they were once I put them on. I fell in love with this style of jean because it has the potential to be dressed up with a fancier top and heeled boots, or casual with an oversized crewneck and some platform sneakers. I will definitely be picking up a few more pairs of these jeans before the fall season comes to an end!
Corduroy is making a comeback from the early 2000s, and this is another trend I was living for, and was determined to find to add to my wardrobe. Typically, when I look for jackets, I tend to search for one that is light weight yet will still provide some warmth for the chillier fall days. This ecru corduroy jacket from Zara was exactly what I was looking for and have been satisfied with my purchase thus far. Since I typically wear neutrals, I decided on this colour because it would coordinate with some staples I already have in my closet. However, since this jacket has become one of my favourites, I may have to order another for a pop of colour!
